These data and maps represent the DRAFT model results for Fire Hazard Severity Zoning (FHSZ) developed in January 2007 - they do not provide actual recommendations on zoning and are not necessarily current. The data and maps issued in January 2007 cover Federal Responsibility Area (FRA), State Responsibility Area (SRA) and Local Responsibility Areas (LRA).
Draft data and maps for FHSZ in SRA have been updated and have been the subject of public hearings in 56 counties. These revised (“proposed”) maps can be found on the CAL FIRE website. The proposed SRA FHSZ maps will undergo further revision before continued hearing and final adoption by the Director.
Areas ranked as Very High FHSZ (VHFHSZ) in LRA are also changing. Revised data and county maps for VHFHSZ will be posted about September 15, 2007. This new revised information should be used to verify and edit VHFHSZ in LRA.
